Cody's Artwork

Cody has gotten really artistic the last few months. Bryan is always finding freebies and got us some loads of dirt. Well that is like heaven to 2 little boys. They have played and played on these piles for days. I went out to check on them a little bit ago and this is what Cody was doing.

My boys are growing up so fast. The days are starting to fly by and I am already watching little men form before my very eyes. God keep them close, I pray that they will become men of great faith in you. Thanks for blessing me with their hearts, love and personalities.

Little Funny Boy!

Zachary is still cracking us all up with his funny words....

The boy's stayed with MeeMaw and PawPaw for a week this summer, when Zachary returned he was playing with Cody one day. I faintly heard the spoken words, "Oh Gray Shit, Cody!" Thinking I just heard a cuss word I said, "Zachary what did you just say?" "GRAY SHIT!" So I then calmly asked, Zachary when did you hear that word..."MeeMaw says it ALLLLLL the time!"

I started laughing so hard, MeeMaw I thought-she's such a sweet Godly woman. Really? So after some good thinking about words she uses a lot I remembered, GRACIOUS! We have laughed and laughed at that one!

Zachary was talking to Nana and telling her all about Daddy going back to school this week and that Daddy got out of day class his first day because of a bomb threat and his night classes, "because Daddy's compressor was sick."

While drawing a picture with me watching, Zachary said, "Mom, I'm gonna need to consecrate. I need you to go somewhere."

The First of Summer Funnies!!

Well Summer 2011 is off and kicking...spending more time with the boys make me realize how much I love their innocence and "youngness." This will not last much longer and it makes me really sad! Here are a few of the funny things that have come out of their mouth lately....some are rather shocking. ;)

Zachary is all into being lean and trim these days. He walks around talking about what exercises he can do to increase his muscle mass. So he asked me, "Mom, does fat go to heaven?" So I gave him the whole only our souls go to heaven until Jesus returns and then he might be blessed with the biggest muscles he's ever seen. Then he says, "Well why do people like to be fat?" Before I could answer...."Mom your legs are fat, so it won't go with you!"

Zachary is in Safety Town these few weeks, so Cody and I are having some quality time together! Friday we walked around Country Park and he found a rubber skeleton body, which started ALL sorts of conversations. We talked about where the guts were on a skeleton, why leg bones are big up top and not at the bottom....plus many more! We went and picked up Zachary and Cody was showing him his new treasure he found. Then it hit him...."if this is all the bones in your body where is his penis?" While I was gasping for the right answer..."Mom is your penis a muscle or a bone?" I was forced to go there! I told him it was a muscle. He then replied, "Mom that just doesn't seem right, it doesn't make sense." And then it was quiet....aaahhhh! Lordy, lordy please help me to be prepared for just the right answers at just the right time.

The pool has become our entertainment for the summer. We came home from the pool today and Cody was undressing in the laundry room as he came running out in a panic. "MOM, I'M TURNING BROWN. I don't want to be a brown person. I want to stay white. (Then he realized he was two different colors) Oh no, I'm gonna be 2 colors." First time the poor little thing realized your body tans. I encouraged him that it was perfectly fine to be brown and that some of his best friends were all different colors, but that he would stay white and it was called being tanned!

These little ones crack me up, stump me, and amaze me. I continue to thank God for His many blessings that He has taught me through them!!!

February 15th, 2011

The boys and I were doing our bible study together before bed as normal....until.....we get to the question "if Jesus came back tonight would you be raised up with Him?"

Cody quickly says, "Oh YEAH!"

Zachary says, "not me, but I want to!"

So Cody says, "Zachary you can pray right now and ask Jesus into your heart....do you want to?"

".....um, I already did quietly!" Zachary says

So after talking to Zachary and seeing if he understood what he wanted to do, we helped him speak the prayer to God out loud and to profess Jesus as his Savior!

Cody could not stop smiling and half way through the prayer the smile turned to crying....Cody has prayed for years that Zachary would ask Jesus into his heart!! I just witnessed the most awesome out pouring of love from my boys. This moment in time was amazing! Thank you GOD!!!!
(This picture was taken right after Cody blew his nose and stopped crying....precious little ones God has blessed us with!)

Arrow of Light

We attended the Blue and Gold banquet and the Arrow of Light Ceremony tonight with Cody. It is the highest rank in Cub Scouts and they get tapped out to Boy Scouts. It is a very reverent ceremony, quiet and dark.

Zachary looks up at me and says in his quietest of voice, "Mom cover my ears and neck so they won't see me I don't want them to come and take me away and hit my shoulders."

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me."

This was the boys memory verse for Upwards this week and we were sitting at the table eating supper practicing the verse. Zachary aces the verse but with some hand motions....but through me, and points from his bottom up to his neck. I said, "What?"

So he does it again repeats the whole verse with hand motions and then explains to me, "butt through me, Mom it means Jesus comes up through your butt and into your heart."

Oh me after much laughing....we have some serious explaining to do. Where do they get these things?
